Crowding Estimates Information
Crowding Estimates
Mt. Moiwa Ropeway is very crowded during the nighttime viewing hours.
Normally, the round trip time from Sanroku Station to Sancho Station is about one hour, but during weekends, long holidays, long vacation periods (summer, winter, year-end and New Year), and during the nighttime viewing season, the round trip time may be two hours or more.
Especially after sunset, the Mini Cable Car going down from the summit can get very crowded, and at times there may be a wait of up to an hour before boarding, so we recommend that you arrive with plenty of time to spare, after checking the following Crowding Estimates.
※The following Crowding Estimates are not necessarily definitive.
※The crowding levels may change depending on the weather and events on the day. Thank you for your understanding.
※The last Ropeway up is at 21:30.
The Ropeway will depart from Sanroku Station at 21:30, so please arrive in plenty of time to complete your ticket purchase procedures by around 21:25.
We may extend our opening hours depending on the time of year. Please check the details in our Announcements, etc.
During peak periods when it is crowded,
the round trip may take more than two hours.
Please use this as a reference when planning your visit.

We also highly recommend the scenery during the day!
The Peak Observation Deck is a popular spot for viewing the nighttime lights of Sapporo, but the views during the day are also breathtaking. As well as offering a panoramic view of the city, the observation deck also offers a magnificent panorama of the natural environment of the area, including Mt. Sapporo, Mt. Eniwa and Ishikari Bay, which cannot be seen after the sun goes down.
